The wedding of Shannon Tweed and KISS rocker Gene Simmons is quickly approaching, and Shannon is working to pick the all-important wedding dress.

"The big day is coming. I'm overwhelmed, I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm happy," Shannon said. "I have tried ball gowns I like. I've tried strapless, sleeves, no sleeves, wintery, summery, flowy and tight. Gene only ever has one request when it comes to my dresses and that is that it shows a lot of cleavage and is really short."

Check out the video to see more with Shannon as she picks out her dress for her wedding to Gene Simmons, which takes places this Saturday, October 1.

The new season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels airs on A&E starting October 4, 2011.

The annual 3D Summit that is being held at the Hollywood/Highland Center today September 20, 2011 through Thursday September 22nd just adjacent to the Renaissance Hotel in the epicenter of Hollywood is well under way.

The first presentation was on the mobile entertainment side as there is a 3D Entertainment Summit running in conjunction with the Mobile 3D Summit. The first group of speakers included Gene Simmons of rock-n-roll fame (KISS) who is here promoting Ortsbo.

One of Gene’s points was that marketers and the shakers and movers in 3D Mobile technologies can no longer take a sort of egocentric (the word he used was “arrogant”) attitude that if people want to do business with us or use our products, they have to learn English. That’s an attitude that perhaps worked during the height of the British Empire but it doesn’t work today. The appeal of Ortsbo is obvious. Remember the universal translator from Star Trek TNG and Enterprise? We have that here on earth with Ortsbo. Their product is a translation matrix that works on social media. In fact, during the presentation there was a display of what appeared to be tweets from the 3D Summit. Whoever was controlling the projection kept changing languages. In fact, Gene Simmons speaks four languages including Hungarian and German.

“People in the mobile industry point to mobile. People in print point to print and people on the internet point to computers and technology but my philosophy that affects my bottom line is leave no stone unturned. In other words it’s important to be mobile in your content—with your message. Variety is a good example. They have an Internet presence so the notion of mobile is becoming more and more seductive. You want to be with the consumer wherever they go but if that’s the only thing you do you’re going to leave lots of checks that are on the table elsewhere so you’ve got to connect things.”

Sept 20th-

Music is supposed to be the universal language, but Kiss frontman Gene Simmons wants to take things one step further and translate the Internet.

During a keynote interview at the L.A. Mobile Entertainment Summit, moderated by Variety Group president Neil Stiles, Simmons discussed the need to speak to Internet users around the world in their own language.

"The world is no longer English dominated," Simmons stressed to attendees inside Hollywood & Highland's ballroom Tuesday. "It really isn't... Other languages aren't over there, they're right here."

Simmons cited the growth of Spanish-language networks like Telemundo and Univision in California as an example. "If you do not speak Spanish, you are not able to communicate with 50% of the California population," noted Simmons, who is fluent in four languages, including Hungarian.

Simmons used the keynote to focus on language since he serves as celebrity spokesman of Ortsbo.com, which launched in July 2010, and translates live Twitter feeds, as well as emails and other electronic messages into 50 languages. Ortsbo means "local" in Swedish.

Since its bow, Ortsbo has attracted millions of users. During the first half of September, Ortsbo claimed 17 million uniques, according to Ortsbo president David Lucatch.

"A lot of people speak TV English but they do not read and write English," Lucatch said.

Lucatch said that while the Internet used to be dominated by English, it is now just 25% in English.

While Ortsbo generates revenue from advertising and sponsorships, Lucatch and Simmons have been targeting the Hollywood community to use the service as they send their entertainment around the world.

Lucatch said the company has inked deals with most of the major studios in town. He also cited a videogame publisher as a client that uses Ortsbo as part of its customer support center operations.

Simmons touted Ortsbo as a way for Kiss to communicate with its global fans as "our main goal is to spread the brand around the world" and to sell the 3,000 licensed Kiss products the band offers, which includes everything from condoms to caskets, Simmons said.

Taking advantage of all forms of media and distribution platforms, including mobile, is key to success, he said. Otherwise, "you will leave a lot of checks on the table."

Note from Gene: Usually, I don't veer in this direction. But this is worth reading. Read on. Pass it on. Take note.

CHARLIE REESE'S FINAL COLUMN

Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel. He has been a journalist for 49 years. He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN.

Be sure to read the Tax List at the end.

This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000 People
-by Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ...

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you. This might be funny if it weren't so true.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid...

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me

Wicked Lester co-founder Brooke Ostrander has passed away from cancer on Sat, Sept 3rd. I remember him as a kind and generous friend. He will be missed.

Gene,

I just wanted to let you know, in case you were not already aware, that Brooke Ostrander passed away Saturday September 3 from cancer. His funeral was today, I’m sorry for the late notice.

This isn’t an attempt to gain visibility. Mr. O. talked about his past only a little, but was a very proud teacher and one I respected most in High School.

Hopefully you get this message, as I know he had mentioned speaking to you on occasion.

Thanks,

Erik

Sept 12th-

Gene Simmons is to host this year’s Classic Rock Roll Of Honour. And the musician to be given the coveted Living Legend award has also been revealed. Who is it? Read on…

Jeff Beck will follow in the footsteps of such greats as Jimmy Page, Lemmy, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and Ozzy Osbourne in being recipient of this honour.

Says Beck: “The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour has always been about great music that inspires and excites others. To be named as a ‘Living Legend’ amongst so many fantastic musicians is an honour. When I was a 6 year old boy I heard Les Paul’s ‘How High the Moon’ over the radio and from that moment on I knew that I wanted to play the guitar and make music. That moment has led me to where I am today. Rock music continues to evolve and its great how established acts inspire the upcoming bands and vice versa, producing more and more great music. I am proud to be a small part of this”.

Simmons will host the event at The Roundhouse in London on Wednesday, November 9. And he’s clearly looking forward to it.

“On that momentous occasion, the planets will align, living legends will gather to honour their own and London will become the centre of the rock & roll universe. It’s one thing being a voracious and loyal reader of Classic Rock, but it’s another to be in the same room as the people who have inspired me to stop flipping burgers and jump up on stage and have a go at it myself.”

Nick does cop to part of the story reported by Hollywood Life. The website says: “The two were PDA’ing like crazy in the presence of her friends, kissing an tickling one another like mad.”

Nick admits to RumorFix, “They saw us tickling each other at Lexington [Social Club], but that’s just a tickle between friends.”

The 22-year-old, who has his father’s voice and sense of humor, also says no they are not dating, “just friends.”

NOTE: The following - is untrue.

Demi Lovato has a new guy. She is dating Nick Simmons. The former Disney was recently spotted with her new man, who happens to be the son of Kiss rocker, Gene Simmons. While they may seem mismatched, this pairing could make perfect sense.

Demi Lovato and Nick Simmons actually make a cute couple, and a new love could be just what the singer/actress needs in her life. The pair were eyed out together over the weekend, and witnesses say they were going heavy on the PDA. Lovato and Simmons seemingly enjoyed the night as they kissed and tickled each other.

Now that Demi's mystery man has been identified, fans are beginning to wonder if the former Sonny With A Chance star will accompany Nick to the wedding of his mother and father (Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed) next month.

Viewers of Nick's reality show, Family Jewels, know that Simmons is a sarcastic, funny, and laid back guy. (Despite his famous family.) However, because of her past problems, Demi Lovato needs a guy who can love and support her when she's feeling vulnerable. Hopefully, Nick Simmons is up to the challenge.

They're gonna rock and roll all night!

KISS rocker Gene Simmons and longtime love Shannon Tweed have set a wedding date. E! News confirmed that the duo will say their "I do's" Oct. 1 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The bassist, 62, proposed to his Playboy Playmate girlfriend, 54, on the finale of the couple's A&E reality series Gene Simmons' Family Jewels. The duo have been together for 28 years and have two children together: Nicolas, 22, and Sophie, 19.

"I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love... and you're the only one I ever will love," Simmons told Tweed during a recent vacation to Belize that was filmed for their show. "I've never said those words to anybody. And I don't ever want to...funny, I used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you, but for me it's true. Please marry me."

The early evening nuptials – as shown on the two-part invite – will take place at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. The invite requests "classy cocktail attire" even though "we know some Rockstar attire will be worn."

The invitations were given a personal touch by their kids Nick and Sophie Tweed-Simmons, including a special message announcing Team Tweed-Simmons with a stenciled portrait of the family drawn by Nick and a poem by Sophie.

Sept 3rd-

Kiss frontman Gene Simmons will marry his girlfriend of 28 years, the actress and former Playmate Shannon Tweed, in an October ceremony, his representative said on Thursday.

The wedding will put a traditional twist on a decidedly untraditional relationship between the hard rock icon and the model that, since 2006, has been chronicled in the reality TV show "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels" on cable network A&E.

The Israeli-born Simmons and the Canadian-born Tweed have two adult children together, Nick and Sophie.

An invitation for the wedding, which will be held on October 1 in Los Angeles, was created that contains drawings of the family done by Nick Simmons and a message by Sophie Simmons.

"There will no longer be a Team Tweed or a Team Simmons but instead a Team Tweed-Simmons," the message read.

Gene Simmons, 62, plays bass guitar and sings in the band Kiss, which had hits with the songs "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Night."

Shannon Tweed appeared in the pages of Playboy magazine in the 1980s and had a number of starring roles in low-budget thrillers and adventure movies such as "Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death" and "Scorned."

Simmons proposed to Tweed in Belize, in a moment that was captured by cameras for their A&E reality show.

"Our mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our father's life ... well, it doesn't change that much."

It continues on a heartfelt note -- saying, "But we will be united as a family in spirit and in title forever."

- Wedding will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel

And here's the cute letter that Gene and Shannon's kids wrote to guests along with the invitation:

Break out the family jewels.

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have set a date for their years-in-the-making nuptials, E! News confirmed Thursday. They'll do the deed at a Beverly Hills hotel.

So when's the magic day?

It's Oct. 1! Not so coincidentally, that's just three days before the seventh season premiere of A&E's "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," which will follow the couple and their two kids as mom and dad get ready to tie the knot after 28 years together.

The KISS rocker popped the question while they were vacationing in Belize, an intimate and romantic moment that was the highlight of the show's sixth season finale in July—and a pretty emotional capper, considering so much of the season focused on Simmons and Tweed's volatile relationship.

But Simmons had figured a few things out by season's end.

"I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love," he told Tweed, who dissolved into tears before saying yes.

KISS rocker Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have finally set a date for their wedding. The couple - who have two children, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19 - have been in a relationship for 28 years but are finally going to tie the knot on October 1 at a Beverly Hills hotel.

The ceremony is to be filmed for the seventh season of the musician's reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which will document the pair as they prepare for their big day and the ceremony itself.

The 62-year-old bassist-and-singer popped the question while he and Shannon were on vacation in Belize, and the proposal was shown during the finale of the six season. As he asked the former Playboy Playmate to be his wife, Gene said: "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love ... and you're the only one I ever will love."

It seems things are a lot quieter for former hellraisers KISS these days.

Earlier this month, Gene's bandmate Paul Stanley became a father again to a baby daughter who he and his wife Erin named Emily Grace Stanley.

The 59-year-old musician and Erin have two other children, Colin, four, and two-year-old Brianna, together, while the 'Rock and Roll All Nite' singer has a 16-year-old son, Evan, from a previous relationship.

Gene and Shannon will exchange nuptials on October 1 in Beverly Hills. Their hit reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, premieres its new season just days after on October 4, only on A&E. Congrats you two!

Reality TV couple Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed are to marry next month at a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel after 28 years together, E! News said.

The parents of two adult children are to wed Oct. 1, three days before the Season 7 premiere of their show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," the report said.

Simmons, front man of the rock band KISS, proposed to Tweed, a model, while they were on holiday in Belize. The proposal was featured on the series' Season 6 finale last month.

After almost three decades together, Kiss front man Gene Simmons and his fiancé Shannon Tweed have finally set a date to walk down the aisle.

The couple, who have two adult children together, will tie the knot on October 1st at an 'iconic Beverly Hills hotel,' according to Entertainment Tonight.

The 62-year-old rock star and the 54-year-old former Playboy Playmate met in 1984 and began living together the following year.

They have two children together - a son, Nick, 22, and a 19-year-old daughter, Sophie.

The entire family stars in the A&E reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

The season finale of the last season ended with a proposal, and the new season will begin with the lead up and preparations for the October 1 nuptials.

The season premiere will air on October 4 on A&E.

The couple, who live in Beverly Hills, both had several high-profile relationships before they met almost 30 years ago.

Gene had previously lived and had long term relationships with both Cher and Diana Ross.

Shannon, who was Playmate Of The Year in 1982, meanwhile had a brief relationship with Hugh Hefner and before that was with Canadian Football League player Ron Foxx who played linebacker for the Ottawa Rough Riders.

Womanizing KISS star Gene Simmons has finally set a date to marry Shannon Tweed, his long-suffering girlfriend of 28 years, the New York Post reported Friday.

The couple are to wed at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct. 1.

Many doubted the pair, who have two grown-up kids, Nick and Sophie, would make it up the aisle after sharp-tongued and spandex-wearing Simmons proposed to Tweed on his A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.”

The show followed their therapy sessions after Simmons’ claim that he has slept with nearly 5,000 women, adding in a later interview, “A lot of them didn’t get a lot of sleep.”

After the proposal was aired, Tweed said there was “slim chance” of them really getting wed.

She told People magazine, “You’re seeing this happy family ... but in my heart, I am dying.”

She added she needed commitment for the relationship to work. Well, now it looks like she might get it with invitations being sent for the wedding.

It only took 28 years, but Gene Simmons will finally make an honest woman out of Shannon Tweed.

Fans watched the KISS bassist pop the question to his longtime love on Season 6 of A&E’s Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Since the show wrapped in July, the couple has been busy making arrangements for their nuptials.

According to their wedding invitation, obtained by People, Simmons, 61, and Tweed, 54, will tie the knot on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.

The duo requests that their guests don “classy cocktail attire,” but note that, “we know some Rockstar attire will be worn.”

Accompanying the invitation is a letter from the couple’s two children, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19.

“After 28 years of two loose strings, our parents have finally decided to tie the knot,” the letter reads. “Our Mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our Father’s life… well it doesn’t change much.”

Gene Simmons Family Jewels hit a series high for its Season 6 finale, in which Simmons proposed to Tweed. A&E announced that the reality program will return on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

Upon its return, the action will pick up right where last season left off, with viewers finding out whether or not Shannon accepts the Kiss band member's long-awaited marriage proposal in the one-hour premiere.

Spoiler alert: She accepts and they set an Oct. 1st wedding date.

Sept 2nd-

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have a date to get married -- finally. The KISS singer and the former Playmate have been together for 28 years and have two children.

Invitations to the Oct. 1 wedding, sent out under the kids' names, contain art by Nick, 22, and a nontraditional message from Sophie, 18: "After 28 years of loose strings, our parents have finally decided to tie the knot."

"Our mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our father's life ... well, it doesn't change that much."

The invite isn't all rock-star bravado, however. Teasing to the formation of "Team Tweed-Simmons," it continues: "We will be united as a family in title and spirit forever."

Simmons is 62 and still touring with Paul Stanley and the current incarnation of KISS; Tweed is 54.

Simmons' proposal in Belize was naturally captured by reality-TV cameras for A&E's show "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels," which rolls its seventh season starting Oct. 4.

So much for Simmons' "happily unmarried" lifestyle.

Break out the family jewels.

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have set a date for their years-in-the-making nuptials, E! News confirmed Thursday. They'll do the deed at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

So when's the magic day?

It's Oct. 1! Not so coincidentally, that's just three days before the seventh season premiere of A&E's Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which will follow the couple and their two kids as mom and dad get ready to tie the knot after 28 years together.
