That was COOL wearing your boots on The TONIGHT SHOW!!!

Gene-

I wanted to start out saying that I love you!! I just got done reading Sex,Money, Kiss. It was amazing. I'm only 16 but I'm already starting to use your financial advice and so far its worked. You said don't send hate mail but I would like to say to everyone that has read it that is a female and was offended by it needs to read it again, everything in there was true!
Gene id also like to say don't let anyone tell you have to get married, I stand by what you said. Its your money why give it to someone that didn't earn it.
This is what inspired me most about your book....

"What will you say right before they put you six feet under? Will you say:
"I wish I would have."
"I wish I could have."
"I wish I should have."
Or will you say, "I did it all. Thank you and good night."- Gene Simmons

Thank you Gene, Your AMAZING!

Hi Gene,

I grew up listening to Kiss through my brothers. I just wanted to let you know that my 4 year old niece is totally infatuated with you. Her name is Kristina, and she calls you her man. She has wrote letters that we have had to pretend to mail, and thinks Shannon should share you with her. Lol...Is there an official fan club website with pictures and letters sent to your fans?
I would really like to sign her up.

Thank you

Response from Gene:

Me!!!

Hi Gene.

With the volume of letters you receive, I am not sure what chance this has of garnering your attention.  But I hope it does.

Nevertheless, I wanted to once again thank you for all you do for the members of this great Nation's military.  We met this past week on one of your Frank's Energy Drink promo stops in San Diego.  I met you at the 7-11 on 2nd and Broadway (your next to last stop, I believe).  I doubt if you remember, but I had my picture taken with you and, after introducing myself as a disabled military Vet, thanked you for all you do for the military.  You then took off your sunglasses, leaned down, and thanked ME for what I've done.  I was blown away, and further rendered speechless after you gave me a big hug.

I'm not sure if it was the fact that you were thanking ME, or the extreme sincerity with which your thanks was conveyed  that left me speechless.  Here is my childhood and early adolescent icon, whose bass lines I used to learn in my room as a teenager, thanking me for risking (and almost losing) my life in Afghanistan.  It was unreal.  Later that evening I tried to catch you at the Jade Theater for a bit more of a chat, thinking you'd probably interested to hear about my story and what happens to Vets after they become disabled and are no longer of use to this country.
Your attention was in high demand, unfortunately, and I did not get the chance for a on-one one.  I did laugh to myself, however, when a woman near the bar handed you a drink.  I saw you make a face and spit it back into the glass.  I thought: "well, she obviously doesn't know that Gene doesn't drink".  Classic.

Anyhow, sorry I didn't get a chance to speak with you at greater length at Jade.  My back was killing me anyway (disability).  And thank YOU, once again, for all you do to support the military. You are truly a class act, and one of very few celebrities that actually "get it".  I hope to run into you again someday.  And if you are in San Diego again, I will try my best.  Good luck on the KIss World Tour!

Response from Gene:

We Honor You, Sir.

Dear Mr Simmons

You are absolutely correct about honest and respect. My parent insisted on it, tell the true, be respectful and I continue to live my life accordingly. I may not have everything I want but everything I have, I acquired the old fashion way, with honest hard work. I love your television program Family Jewels and your family is awesome. Nick and Sophie are wonderful, respectful and well rounded individual, you should be very proud of them. Although the public think your ideas are radical and new age, they are actual very old fashion and timely. I watch your program, even the re-runs, and I learn from your innovative ideas. Thank you.

This is in response to the letter from Andrea from Kansas. I admire you for pulling yourself through difficult times in your life. The fact that you used music to help you through it speaks to the power of music and the effect it can have on people. As someone who has made a living as a musician for the past 30 years, I have had many people comment on how music has changed their lives or helped them through difficult times in their lives. Your ability to get through those times says a lot about you. You are obviuosly a fighter and a survivor. Many people would have given up, but you pulled through and I admire you for that. As far as my letter is concerned, I'm sorry but I do find it frustrating when people call themselves "huge fans" and then proceed to state something that it is not true and has been addressed on this website over and over.  I realize that it is impossible for anyone to remember every quote or detail about KISS or any other band. I think you may have missed my point. You are wrong when you state that Gene does call anyone's idea "bad". He has used the words "bad idea" many times. Recently, has has used the words "not a good idea". Same message, different choice of words. Whether or not this crushes someone's dreams is up to the person who proposed the idea. Personally, I would use it as motivation to prove Gene wrong but I suspect that many people do give up too easily. The fact is that many of the ideas are really bad or have been done. People should do more research before approaching Gene or anyone else with an idea. Gene is a unique person. He has chosen to live his life in a manner that is different than most people and has achieved a level of success that most people can only dream of. In an earlier letter, I stated that if people spent more time improving their own lives than worrying about Gene's or anyone elses, that they could possibly achieve more success than they have currently. I stand by what I said in that letter and by what I said in the letter to which you referred. I wish you well.

Take care,

Kevin

Response from Gene:

Thanks for the incisive email. But everyone, including yourself (respectfully) misses my point about IDEAS. They mean nothing. Really. ...Simply because the distance between an IDEA and SOMETHING REAL is very far off. Someone has the idea of flying. ...ok. Great idea. Now what???? Never mind everyone has the same ideas. Trust me. They do. The only real point of all this is, how do you make it real?
Idea: Charge people for water. Terrible idea. Why would they pay for water, when they can have it for free through their faucet.
Real: Someone arranges for distribution, paying for the plastic bottles, doing an ad campaign and..presto!!! The "Terrible Idea" becomes a "Great Idea" -- simply because someone has been able to figure out DISTRIBUTION, COST OF GOODS, MARKETING CAMPAIGN and so on.
   The idea? Means nothing.
   The Implementation? Means everything.

Gene,

A lot of your fans collect Gene Simmons/KISS items.
