Dear Gene,
I'm a 13 year old KISS fan and a fan of Gene Simmons and acknowledge your life accomplishments.
I'd like to share some of mine with you.
- become a platinum selling artist
- tour the world
- write a successful book
- make tons of money........and then more money ;)
- inherit the crown and title of Rock God (from you Gene)
- live my life my way
- Live with Shannon Tweed!
Response from Gene:
Good thoughts.
Gene,
You ever read any books Eckhart Tolle?? The Power of Now, Very good book...
Enjoyed your interview with that lady who wanted you to remove your shades..
Take care,
Sean
Response from Gene:
As a matter of fact, Miss Tweed is half way through the book. She's enjoying it.
Gene,
I’ve been trying to keep my mind stimulated with successful people. There’s this one guy, however, that’s not very friendly. It makes it tough to be around him. He’s ethically sound…just lacking in social skills. How do you deal with people like this? My nature is to avoid him, but would I be doing myself justice by doing this?
Thanks as always,
Mark
Response from Gene:
While I understand your concerns and while the gent in question could certainly use some social skills, it isn't however, the most important issue. It's called BUSINESS. Not FRIENDS. If you think you can learn something from him, stick around.
mr.simmons
im not a millionaire or a buis.man but i might if your intrested an idea that will make us some money.i ask you cause your a biss.genius."gene simmons glasses repair kit"cause the world cannot go without seeing gene simmons lol.
Response from Gene:
OK. Remember, this is not the first time people have had this idea. But nonetheless, the real issues are: Who pays for the manufacturing, distributing, sales, marketing, manpower, insurance, rent and cost of goods. And, who pays me? And, how much.
The above is the real business model.
Ideas don't have business models.
But, thanks for the thought.
Dear Gene,
Just wanted to drop you a line to say how impressed I was with your performance on 'Shrink-rap'. Psychologist Dr Pamela Connolly is undoubtedly good at her job, and I have seen many celebrities break down as a result of her constant probing, but you held strong and steadfast. There are no wishy-washy explanations as to why you are the way you are - you, like me are a man with a set of balls that work, and as a result see the notion of marriage as something outdated, created by organised religion as a means to control. We are just animals when it comes down to it and monogamy in the animal kingdom is very rare. Heck, if the cavemen were all 'one woman men' then none of us would be here today!! How can us men be expected only to be attracted to one individual woman when almost every woman we meet is made-up & smelling so sweet...?? It was evident that as cold and professional as Dr Connolly was trying to be, your flirtations were starting to melt the ice. Well done - you did yourself and real men everywhere proud.

P.S. I'll be doing the meet&greet in Prague and look forward to congratulating you in person - I'll be the Scotsman in the kilt!!
P.P.S. Health & Happiness to yourself, your mother and the family. Cheers!
Gene,
Is there any KISS memorabilia in the Smithsonian that you know of?

Response from Gene:
Yes. KISS LUNCHBOX.
Gene, et al
It would be doubtful that anything this unflattering would be posted anywhere - blog-wise, fan mail wise or what have you. But I must say, after watching parts of several episodes of your “family show” I have not ever felt so sorry for anyone in my life. Restless ambition takes its toll on a person and on a family. That much is evident. In comparison to the indigenous people in the tribes in Mexico that we work with (provide medicine etc.) who have so little, they are by far more content and fulfilled in their lives than the people who feel the compulsion to keep up with “the unreal lifestyle” in LA. I am sad to say that from the point of view of the rest of the world, a person engaging in this kind of life can tend to look a few hundred miles wide, and a fraction of an inch deep.
This is what you actually wish to be remembered for? & Is there any merit in presenting this extravagant way of living for the world to see?
Likely, no. We will find that authenticity is all that matters in the END.
Best to your family,
CMM
Response from Gene:
Thanks for the email.
Here are your options. 1. Don't watch our show. I seem to bother your sense of how I should live my life.
I live my life my way. And, I am ambitious beyond your wildest dreams.
You sound as if you're doing important work. Terrific. Keep doing it and following your dream.
Mine? To achieve... Always.
Yes. Charity. But only those who have achieved can afford to give charity. If we were all poor, there would be almost no charity.
2. Your tone is a bit holier than thou and I would respectfully suggest you might get farther in making your point by showing people how happy you are following your dream. But, others follow theirs. Life gives you a menu. You can choose from it what you want. Better to keep your nose glued to your plate and not criticize someone who wants something different from the menu.
3. Finally, "Restless ambition?" You bet. And, I consider that the highest praise. Especially from someone like you who can't fathom the how big my ambitions truly are.
Enjoy life.
Gene: appropos your comments about learning Mandarin, because it's "the language of money."
I agree that the Chinese economy is expanding rapidly, and that Mandarin is a useful language to learn. But, a bit of clarification.
There really isn't as much money to be made in China as many foreigners have claimed, and are still claiming. I live in Seoul, and I know a Korean businessman who tried investing there, and he said that there is still a lot of red tape and hurdles in China, when it comes to doing business there.
As well, China is the number one "problem country" when it comes to theft/bootlegging of intellectual property (movies, CDs, video games, books, etc.) and violation of invention patents as well. You might make good money touring there, but don't count on selling many CD's in the Chinese market, because most people will just buy bootleg versions.
That kind of problem also exists in South Korea, Russia, Thailand and other countries as well (including America) but it's especially pronounced in the Middle Kingdom because of sheer size and frequency, and it will take a long time for them to clean it up.
Brian,
Seoul, R.O.K.
Response from Gene:
Respectfully, you're not qualified to tell people if China is the next economic boom center of this planet -- simply because it already is.
Nothing is easy and neither is China. With that said, just because you met one disgruntled gentleman, is no indication of anything. Learn Mandarin. It's the language of money. Now.
Ahoy!
Family Jewels has finally hit screens here in Australia, even it is all the way back at Season one.
Better late than never! Since our interview, I've become both a huge Family Jewels and KISS fan,
so it was my pleasure to write this review:

Keep trucking, Gene. I can't wait to see KISS live again sometime. Completely amazing, I think it changed my life.
cheers,
elmo.
Hi Gene,
It is great you have a comic DOMINATRIX. As it is I am a Dominatrix ( one of my professions) as well. I have long red hair. What a coincidence..... I must buy it and add it to my femme fatal heroine comic collection.
Devi Rose
Response from Gene:
Send us a foto and let's see what you look like. And, that goes the same for all you women out there.
