Hi Gene,
A few months ago our music school did a tribute to KISS. 130 of our students (ages 5-17) all dressed up in make up and costume performed a greatest hits package for nearly 800 people. Here’s a picture of everyone coming out on stage at the end of God gave rock and roll to you.
Just after we performed our show, our All Star Band got an opportunity perform one of your songs at a 7000 seat arena (our second Arena show this year). With only two rehearsals we got up and had the time of our lives.
Someone suggested I send you the link to the (four camera) video shoot we did.
www.wmec.ca/
At bottom of the page click on the KISS picture.
These kids are 11-15 years old. (I’m impersonating you with the red Strat I know, I know It’s not the color of choice for this.)
I need to tell you what an education we got by studying KISS. Believe me when I say this, your vision has taught our students about showmanship, belief in themselves and their dreams. Hey, maybe one day they can play at a KISS convention.
Thanks again for the years of Inspiration.
Cheers,

The difference is between millionaires and billionaires. That's billionaires with a B.
I think it's interesting how people say to you that they have an idea the could make you millions or even billions. Here's something I found that explains how much a billion is:
A billion seconds ago it was 1959
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the stone age.
A billion days ago no one walked the earth on two feet.
Hey Gene,
I just wanted to let you know my church has started a series called Family Jewels. They are playing KISS music prior to the services and after. Me being a huge KISS fan it is awesome for me. You can imagine my surprise to pull up and hear KISS playing as I walk into church! You can check it out at www.crosspt.cc/ . I think you will enjoy it and don't get excited we are not practicing KISStianity or calling ourselves KISStians or anything like that but just the adrenaline rush I get when I walk in and hear my favorite band playing at church! I was also at the 2nd anniversary celebration for the KISS Coffeehouse and met Tommy, he is the greatest guy! I won the Longest Tongue on TV contest and expect to have my TV by next week. By the way Brian is an awesome guy too and I have even talked to him about a future KISS Coffeehouse venture but that is still very early in the works. Anyway just wanted to let you know about the "KISS Church" and be sure you make it to
Alabama this year when you are on tour! One last thought Gene,Shannon and the kids go to church in Alabama..... a great episode of Family Jewels!... and you could check out my huge KISS collection (which I thought rivaled yours until I saw the first episode of Family Jewels) but I come close! Keep KISS alive and tell Paul and the other guys I said hey and never stop rockin'!
I have attached some pics from the Coffeehouse celebration.

Hi Gene and Shannon,
I was wondering if you would look at my product and let me know what you think of it. I accidently came up with a text messaging catch-phrase that I'm trying to get to take off that has to do with the election. You know how everybody uses OMG or LOL or ROFLMAO,well I cama up with OMO, Oh My Obama!!! and I put it on a shirt. It is so unexpected that I think peple will go crazy for it, if they knew about it... With Gene being the marketing giant that he is(you are) I figured you could give me some tips. My website is www.denisesuniquetees.com , and would appreciate any feedback. So please look...remember how hopeful you were before you hit it big, although I don't expect to hit it big, I do hope to get caught up on this sorry economy. I do love your show and how Shannon puts up with your antics and how she makes you put up with her's. Ok, long enough..Take care, Denise
Response from Gene:
Denise, I don't get it. But, try it locally anyway and see if anyone reacts. Good luck.

Dear Mr. Simmons,
I just want to say thank you for your outstanding and unwavering support for our military and of that of our wounded warriors. I have watched the episode, in which your daughter and yourself, traveled to Camp Pendleton, visited vets, and "hung out" with the troops, everytime it aired. I am a veteran of the Army myself, actually a disabled veteran. I was not, however, wounded in Iraq/Afghanistan. I never got my chance to go. My medical problems began just a day prior to my departure for Iraq. The hardest thing I've ever had to do was to watch my buddies get on that bus, not knowing if I'd ever see them again. At times I feel like I let them down, my Army down, and my country down. The doctors seem to think my cardiopulmonary condition might be a result of the anthrax vaccine. I am still a hard-core soldier. It will forever be in my blood. It has shaped who I am. But when I watched that episode, and even the roast for Wounded Warriors, tears began to fall. I have a great felling of pride. I am very proud of my service and that of all who have served and continue to serve, even though it is unpopular to many. Sometimes people ask me, and even think to myself, given the outcome, and considering the fact that the only cure for my condition is a lung transplant, would I do it all over again? The answer is yes! Someone has to do it and not everyone can or will. If they could, everyone would serve. With all of it's faults, I love my country. I've been abroad and nothing can compare. I have a 17 month old son and for me personally, I feel that if I do it, maybe one day, my son won't have to do it. It is very moving to know that there are still patriots, such as yourself and your daughter, out there. When I hear the National Anthem, it brings a tear to my eye, or anything dealing with disabled vets or our military for that matter. Seeing you and your family's compassion for service members lets us know that our service matters, it's appreciated, and it's important. You are an inspiration, a great American, and a true patriot.
Thank you sir.
Sincerely,
Glynn Crook
You are a great business person, and I have a great business idea. How can we help each other?

Response from Gene:
Well, first you send me $2 mil....and then we'll take it from there. Your turn.
Hi Gene,
I saw this posted on Ebay. They claim it is a page from your notebook dated 1993, acquired at the KISS Butterfield Auction. Ebay Item number: 320298061434. The listing just ended, but I am still curious - Is this real?
One side has most of the lyrics for "Love's A Slap In The Face" and the other seems to have some ideas that became lyrics on HITS also, and Revenge. I added a picture below.
Thank you,
Craig

Response from Gene:
It's real.

Gene, just wondering...
First, every other letter that I read in your letter column is virtually identical. It is some idiot trying to get you involved in some business idea. You always politely or sometimes not so politely decline. My question is when will these people finally get the hint and stop sending you these stupid business proposals? Also, since they keep pouring in, and you keep rejecting them, it seems like a lost cause on your part. Why bother posting these same types of letters over and over again? Why not keep those types of emails off of your site and post others that may be more useful for the real fans of yours?
Oh, by the way...I have a business idea that you may be interested in....hahaha just kidding!
Eddie
Response from Gene:
They won't listen to me. Maybe they'll listen to you.
There is only ONE WAY, I would ever consider a business proposal -- and that is, when someone hires me. Cash upfront. If that's not someone's business model, I understand. but, it also means they should look for someone else.
Gene,
I am a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army. I was a Tank Commander during Desert Storm and have always been a fan of KISS. I have never written to you before, but I came across this on the DailyKos website and I thought you should be aware of it.
God bless you for your support of my brothers in arms and your support for what we do. I have kept your segment of your visit to the marine base and you and your daughters visit to the VA.
You are truly a great person, your mother should be proud of you. You and Shannon have done an excellent job raising your children.
I look forward to the next US KISS tour.
Take care and best wishes,
Ron R. Shaffer

Gene,
We were watching Dancing With The Stars last night and saw comedian Jeff Ross wearing a KISS shirt during his rehearsal. Maybe he’s reminiscing how he “reamed you a new one” at your roast at the Key Club a few months ago.
We hear KISS is gearing up for “WORLDWIDE EVENTS to celebrate their 35th Anniversary” and we pray that means there will be lots of North American concerts (especially in Los Angeles because that’s where we live). We are patiently waiting.

Response from Gene:
Jeff Ross first came to my attention when he started out. He sent me his demo reel. On it, he had a KISS-style comedy routine. There was a big, lighted ROSS sign in back of him (with the two KISS-type "ss"), and he intro-ed himself with: "You wanted the best, and you got the best. The best comedian in the world, ROSS"...and then fireworks went off.
That's why he wears KISS t shirts.
And, so should everyone.
