IN THE 70'S WHEN I WAS AT A KISS CONCERT IN IOWA, I MET A LADY IN THE CROWD THAT CLAIMED TO BE YOUR MOTHER. MY QUESTION IS DID YOUR MOTHER ATTEND YOUR CONCERTS BACK THEN ? DID I REALLY MEET YOUR MOTHER?
LATER,
LUCKY DOGG
Response from Gene:
No. Not in Iowa.
Gene, ( Chaim )
You are the 1st celebrity I’ve ever emailed. Not sure why I am now, but just felt I should. (Email’s are too easy)
I realize you probably get 1,000’s of email’s so I will try to keep it short, plus you will probably never see this, but Oh well. It was a shot.
I have to admit I didn’t care for ALL of your music when I was younger, but I appreciate it now that I’ve aged. No other singer did it like you did.
Especially after viewing the TV show, which gives some insight to your real life, (applaudable, as most “stars” would not allow this, nor I, probably) I realize you are no different than most parents trying to raise their kids and make the best of it. You only just chose a different and possibly more stressful profession than I did.
Just wanted to say, good job, keep it up, and applause for keeping it together in the right way, from what I’ve seen.
Your TV show has done you good, as my opinion of you has changed 360 degree since viewing it. The general public, possibly like myself, can only see’s what’s on stage and whatever the “media” writes, so it’s good to see some Rock Stars also have a good head on their shoulders. Thanks for your contribution to advancing the rock and roll industry and not going “ape shit” with the stardom.
Again, keep up the good work.
Wrote too much already.
Later,
Mike
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy watching you and your family! I am undergoing some medical treatments that make me pretty sick and affect my sleep a lot. I tape them on my DVR and when I want to relax and enjoy and have some laughs I watch them. Tonight has been a rough one and so I just watched 4 episodes and I am feeling better. I am so impressed at the business man you are as well. I wish you and your family happiness and blessings abundantly and pray for the shows continues success.
Thanks for the lift!
Tammy
Response from Gene:
Thanks for the kind words. Back at ya.
Gene
I was wondering while watching you TV show last night , the one where you went to see your mother and had to sneak out of the house then got home at like 4 am then your mom woke you up at 6:30 to head to the fire dept. I do admire you for loving your mom so much she is a very sweet lady.
While seeing all the pictures of you when you were a child I noticed that there were no pictures of your father. It may not be any of my business but I was just wondering why. I did several searches on Google and found nothing. Gene if it was up to me you would be voted the best in the world as a Role model and I thank you for that. The rest of the celebrities should follow in your foot steps. Gene thanks again for your time
Sincerely,
Johnie Boles
Response from Gene:
I appreciate the kind words. No fotos of my Father at my Mother's home. It's her home. She decides. But, for the record, he left us when I was almost 7 years of age. And I never saw him since. I did, however, buy him a house and supported him until the day he died.
My sense is, it was a good trade. My Father was responsible for my birth. The least I could do was support him in his later life.
Though he wasn't there for us, in some strange way, it may have forced me to do things for myself and never depend on anyone. Not even my Father.
All is well.
I will not turn into my Father. Nick and Soph will have me there as long as I'm alive.
I just wanted to say how much I loved the "Sweet Sixteen" episode of the show. Seeing Sophie being both apprehensive and thankful for your involvement was really great, and I especially loved when she asked you to meet her at dance class. I lost my dad last August, and I miss him every day. Your emotional toast to Sophie brought tears to my eyes, and it reminded me to be grateful for all the wonderful things my dad and I shared.
I love the show, and I think you've got a pretty fantastic family. I know you think so too! Thanks,
Angie Z.
Mr. Simmons
I've been a KISS fan almost all my life. I have been watching Family Jewels for awhile, just wanted to tell you I think you are a great Dad. I think all of the fame and fortune you have achieved does not compare to role model you are to your children. You do great work for many people, Its good to see a person who has achieved such a high status care so much for people who need help. You put a smile on everyone's face you come in contact with and that says allot about a person. Look foreword to seeing you in concert in Milwaukee later this month.
Mike
This letter is not fan mail. I want Gene and Shanna to know how wonderful they are. I so respect them for their family ties. "Marriage" is not the answer to all relationships. I watch every show and your kids are so awesome. They have grown into such mature adults and they both know the value and morals that have been built within them as chldren. I only wish I could meet all of you in person. I know, I know, you all do not have time and that is fine, I just wish I could.
When Gene was sneaking a peek at his son at his "first singing" I was so impressed with Gene for holding back. It brought tears to my eyes, I know as a parent those "Proud" moments are so wonderful! But how respectful Gene was to let his son go and do on his own.
I have two wonderful children and let me tell you it is hard to let them go.
I live in Avon Illinois. My name Connie Pool, I work in a Catholic Hospital and also volunteered 20 years of my life to our small community with our Ambulance service as an Emergency Med Tech.

Dear Gene:
So, I'm folding laundry catching up on some TiVo'ed episodes of your show. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your show!
I was born in 1969 and grew up listening to KISS. "Beth" was my favorite song to roller skate to (ladies choice, of course). Anyway, you and KISS represented everything that my parents told me not to be and do. The whole sex, drugs and rock n' roll thing I guess...
Now, I'm 40. I have three kids of my own. I want to tell you that YOU are a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT dad! I watch your show not just for entertainment, but you are an inspiration as a parent. In this crazy world, with famous people exhibiting behavior that is by all accounts deplorable, you are so refreshing, real, and level headed!
Gene, PLEASE, PLEASE you NEED to write a parenting book. Your quips, words of wisdom, philosophy, it would be a best seller! Those of us who grew up with KISS would make it our parenting Bible!
Dr. Spock, who? We need advice parenting the Gene Simmons way!
