We are from St. Louis, and for my daughters 7th birthday she wanted to see Kiss, and we ordered tickets for the Detroit show (Platinum Package) flew to Detroit for the Saturday night show at Cobo. Her name is McKenzie, she loves Family Jewels, especially Shannon, Snippy, and Gene.

You guys are the best !!

See ya soon,

Don, Cheryl, and McKenzie

Dear Gene,

I respect your opinion and quote you often to much acclaim. My favorite Gene Simmons quote: "Deeds, not words."

Mahatma Gandhi said "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

How do you feel about people who abuse or abandon pets/animals and what should be done to the abusers when caught?

EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID TO THE ANIMALS. AND... PUBLIC HUMILIATION. MEDIA SHOULD GET AHOLD OF THEIR FOTOS AND THEIR CRUELTY, AND THERE SHOULD BE POSTERS PUT UP ALL OVER THE PLACE... AS SORT OF A "MOST WANTED" POSTER, WITH THEIR FOTOS AND THE FOTO OF THE ANIMAL THEY ABUSED.

OH, ONE MORE THING...

A FREE LICENSE FOR ALL ANIMALS WHO PASS BY TO PEE AND SHIT ON HIM.

Please don't hold back.

Respectfully,

Joe Steven Boyd

Gene,

Love the new album, and I love all the new press coverage. But, with all respect, please stop ending sentences with "baby!" It's lame, outdated and embarrassing. That's all.

Todd

Response from Gene:

Yeah. You're right....baby.

This is a road sign near one of my friend's house in Kalamazoo (or Parchment, not sure the dividing line) MI.

Thought Gene would like that. Visit sometime!

Norm

I need a few (more) words of wisdom. I work in IT security. I got promoted last year, after 10 years with the company. I got a good review last week, but still feel like I don't know what I'm doing half the time. I feel like everyone knows more than me, and I'm just kidding myself about this.

I remember the line from "KISS and Make-Up" about believing your own hype. I need to do this now so I can keep learning and advancing, and support my family. Can you give me a real example from your career when you felt lost and really needed to believe your own hype, and it worked? I need the example.

-John

Response from Gene:

Hype? You don't need it. As long as you're alive and healthy, you have all the tools you need to succeed. Remember, there are wonderful people with handicaps that STILL succeed. You only need THE WILL.

Gene,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for coming to Greenville, South Carolina. South Carolina gets overlooked at times for larger venues in neighboring states. The show was incredible, as usual, and it gave me the opportunity to take my daughters to see the greatest band in the world. We had a big surprise when I turned and Doc McGhee was handing my kids guitar picks. Tomorrow they will be going to school with guitar picks, concert t-shirts, ticket stubs, and pics from the concert. You now have a few more members in the KISS Army. This is how the legend continues! Thanks again for a great time!

Dave Toole

Hi Gene was that really you at the Steelers Brownes game in Pittsburgh on Oct 18th? If he was an imposter he looks just like you. He or you were working the crowd and taking pics of every one in the gold lot 2 parking area. If it was you COOL to see you at the Steelers game.

wade katarski

Response from Gene:

Not me.

Gene - you have praised our capitalist system many times. Have you had a chance to see Michael Moore's latest film?

He makes a pretty good argument that capitalism (and even democracy) in the USA has become corrupted by greed and bribery - ultimately manifesting itself in the bank/auto bailouts. Any thoughts?

Don

Response from Gene:

Moore makes a good arguement that in a free market economy (Capitalism) there is greed and corruption. But then, every system has greed and corruption. Autocracy (Kingdoms), Religious based systems....you name it. Corruption has more to do with the fact that most people are decent, and some are not.

However, let me give you this, as food for thought.

Moore has become rich, because of our Capitalist system.

Doing the same thing (documentaries) in other economic/political systems simply wouldn't work. Never mind the fact that he wouldn't be able to do his documentaries in the first place...and worst of al,l in other economic/political/religious systems, Moore might find his remains in a can of dog food.

Our democratic, free economy system?

The best in the world.

Is it true that you will be starring in the next Mel Gibson movie ?

Joe Galimi

Response from Gene:

No.

Some time ago I submitted a business idea to Gene for consideration. It was about a line of convenience stores in Hawai'i. I didn't realize how Gene's business actually worked or that he had explained it a thousand times already. I may not be a big rock star or marketing genius but my time is valuable too. I don't have time to sit and read all 1000 pages of letters to see if something has already been explained. I'm sorry but I'm just a little bit miffed at the pissy response that I got from Gene! You know, if it weren't for your fans you wouldn't be shit! You don't need to worry I will never grace your website ever again. I'm sure you don't give a flying rat's ass but at least I got it off of my chest!

Chuck Strunk

Response from Gene:

Respectfully, your email says it all.

1. You never bothered to do research on me (read the "thousands of times" I explained my business model).

2. Your "time is valuable", but apparently not enough to do research, which is the first thing any business man needs to do.

3. I have the email our staff sent. It was not "pissy". It also wished you well in your venture.

4. Additionally, and more importantly, if you want to enter the business world -- whether you do business with someone or not, never write an email like this. Because the first thing a business will do, is research YOU. Who you are, and how you handle yourself. This email, were it to be distributed in the business community, would shut you down instantly.

In this case, you are your own worst enemy.

Might I suggest:

1. ALWAYS do research about someone you want to do business with.

2. If it doesn't work out, ALWAYS send a "thank you" email, even if you hate the guy.

Oh, and good luck with your venture.

I recently bought the audiobook version of KISS and Make-Up from i-Tunes. It is fabulous! It's funny, I began to turn my life around about the time I became a KISS fan...which has been in recent years, I'm 25 and discovered you when the Family Jewels show began airing....you talk a lot about how people have to work hard and make their own life for themselves, and I began taking it to heart. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I have begun to create a comfortable life and continue to improve it. I bought my first house recently and in a weird and very roundabout way I feel like it is because your words of wisdom rubbed off on me. I have depended on others for a good portion of my adult life and always felt very weak. Now that I see that i CAN do things by myself, it is so empowering!! So I guess I wanted to say thanks for being awesome and sharing that awesomeness with the world. Love the book so far, I haven't finished listening to the whole thing yet!

Jamie

"Hello Gene!

Isn't it time you tell us the real reason Peter didn't play the concert in which Ed Kanon replaced him?

Martin

Response from Gene:

He was being difficult and believed we couldn't do the show without him. We did. His roadie did it. And not a single ticket was asked to be given back."

Don't you get tired of answering these tired old questions? Obviously Ace and Peter don't want to be in the band. For whatever reason. You and Paul kept the band alive after they both left. You guys kept the vision. If it wasn't for you guys KISS would have ended in 1982 or so...But you kept it alive. The new album is tighter than a drum and the shows are better than ever. All these old timers who keep whining about where is Ace and where is Peter just want it to be 1976 forever. Enjoy KISS now...not for what it was 30 years ago. Good luck to Ace and Peter, but enjoy the current KISS line up...It rocks better than ever. As far as my opinion goes I really think Eric Carr was a much better drummer than Peter. I have always wondered what you would have done for the reunion tour if Eric had lived... He was every bit as important to KISS as Peter. I want KISS as it is now, not 1976. I have already seen that.

William McKenna
