Dear Gene,
I have never sent a celebrity an email before, but there is something I feel I need to thank you for. I watch your show Family Jewels and from you show you have taught me something extremely special... how to be a Dad. Any guy can be a father, but to be a Dad is something not all know how to do. When my boys do some bone-head things or when other events happen with them and I'm not really sure what to do, I ask myself... How would Gene play this one, and will usually follow that.
Thanks again Gene, for helping me be a Dad.

Dear Mr. Simmons,
My sons, Mark and Eric attended the KISS concert in Nashville on 10-28-09. My youngest son, Eric was the boy in the wheelchair that could drive himself around with a sip straw that you met backstage, before the show.
My family was in a car accident in 1994 and at the age of 5, Eric was completely paralyzed, unable to breathe on his own or move. He's now 20, attends college and working on his first business, an indoor soccer field.
I am writing because watching you on TV and seeing your role as a father, I know how much you care about your family and that they are treated well. I see the love you have for your kids and it's palpable.
As Eric's father, I want to say thanks for taking the time to stop and make Eric feel important. We drove 5 hours so he could come and meet you, even though he was sick at the time. He insisted on coming and seeing you. He told me that you stopped and took a personal picture with him on your way to the stage, even though someone told you that there wasn't time. Eric said you told the guy, "I have time for this guy."
I know you must have a lot on your mind before a show, yet you took time for Eric. I know you would do it again and again, because that's just the way you are. I, however, just wanted you to know how much that meant to him. He tells everyone that story.
It means a lot to me that you did that as well. I'm a big fan of your TV show and knowing that you took time to make my son feel so special really touches my heart. I can't express the right words, other than, "Thanks."
God Bless you, Mr. Simmons and your family.

Hi Gene,
I've been a KISS fan since I was 17 years old. I am now 25. I had to work Halloween this year, so I decided to dress up as one of the members from the "hottest band in the world". It'd been a while since I donned the KISS paint, so it didn't turn out as well as I'd hope. However I got a lot of compliments from customers, and even encountered a few fellow KISS fans. (It's always cool to meet more of those!) Oh, and I scared a couple kids (unintentionally. I actually felt bad about that, although it was funny.) Anyway, a friend suggested I send you this pic. Hope your family had a happy Halloween. My boyfriend and I will see you in Sacramento on November 19!
Peace, Love & Happiness,
Stacy
P.S. Yes, that is the bathroom stall in Taco Bell.

I know you may not read or see this, but I wanted to try anyway. This is Camdyn Jace, my 3 year old. We asked him what he wanted to be this Halloween and he wanted to be you. He sat for 45 minutes while I did the make-up, and when he went out he was the hit of the neighborhood. He didn't even care about the candy as you can see in the pic with the ladies.
All he wanted to do is spread his wings and stick out his tongue. It would be great if you would post his pics, he would LOVE it!
Response from Gene:
THAT'S WHY IT'S GOOD TO BE HIM!!!

I just viewed some pictures of your Atlanta KISS concert. I am sitting here in Georgia, an average guy, married, a veteran, father of a teenage daughter, and a teenage boy. We couldn't be more different but we have a lot in common.
For example:
My wife has a crazy sister, they both get together and laugh until they pee them selves. Often I have no idea of why they are laughing so hard. I think peeing is just great fun to them. My wife brings home animals, and cries at emotional commercials. Every time she tries to fix something I have to find a contractor, get a bid, pay them, and replace what ever it is she was trying to fix to begin with. Both of my children live under my roof, and any time I try to be supportive I am viewed as "embarrassing" to their friends. I always get a "thank you" later. What gives?
Just when I have a moments peace, my wife will reach over and pull a wild ear hair out of my head and laugh while I endure the pain. Why cant she just tell me its there so I can take care of it?
Any of this sound familiar?
Mike
Response from Gene:
Yes.
It does.
Sounds like you have a family that loves you.
