Hey Gene,

Thought you might think this to be cool. I was at the Topsfield fair in Topsfield , Massachusetts and they have a pumpkin decorating contest every year. This was one of the submissions!! It came in second.

Have a groovy day,

Gene,
as I sat and watched the presidential debate the other night, I immediately noticed one thing, neither candidate-Bush or Kerry, spoke about the economy. They went back and forth, over and over trying to find a middle ground on the war on terrorism. I was just wondering what your take was on the debate? Did it's outcome make you want to change your vote? KISSRMYSFC

Response from Gene:

No.

I don't know if the person who wrote this letter to you knew, but the specific topic of the first debate was Iraq and the War on Terrorism. The next debate is about the domestic agenda.

Thanks

Adam Nierenberg

Response from Gene:

Correct.

Good evening Mr. Simmons.

As I am a big Jim Rome fan and an avid Listener of his show, I made sure I took some time off from work just to listen to your hour-long interview with him. I must say it was a most intrigueing interview, and in my opinion, Jim Rome's best interview ever, period.

Nothing much to do with sports, apart from the fact that you are involved with NASCAR, but this is one of the reasons why I do listen to The Jungle; because of Mr. Rome's ability to change it up on you every now and then. You brought up many interesting observations on life, the most important being honesty and not lieing, especially to your soul mate. I have lied to my wife many times, and after listening to you on the Jim Rome Show, I now feel contempted to change my life around insofar as it involves my relationship with my wife. She and my one and half year old son are the most important people in my life. They are what holds me together and motivates me to be who I am.

I know you are not much of a fan of marriage, but I am very happily married, and I feel that you are helping me make my marriage that much more happy. I thank you for that. I've always been a Kiss fan, although I like listening to more heavy metal music, such as Death Metal and Black Metal. I was listening to Kiss at the age of six, buying your album, Peter Crisses' and Ace's album, etc. Until recently, I just thought you were another rock star, but after listening to you on the Jim Rome Show and visiting your web site I have come to discover that you are obviously much more than that. You are a straight shooter and you tell it how you feel. That there is what seperates you from the rest, and I'm sure you know that.

Thank you for your insightfulness on life matters and for being yourself and not trying to be somebody you are not. You said it yourself on the Jim Rome Show to some extent: don't try and be somebody you are not; just be yourself and be happy. Also, thank you for speaking your mind on Hollywood stars in general. Yes, they are in general, a bunch of insulting idiots who are full of it. It is insulting to my country, the United States and to me as an immigrant, just as it is to you. God bless you and thanks again!

Sincerely,

Giuseppe Balistreri

Hi Gene,

I have to say, I'm rather annoyed with this whole take on relationships/marriage. I do respect that everyone is entitled to their opinion..but please remember.....exception does not make the rule. Perhaps you or people you know have been taken for a ride by a "significant other" of the female gender; but I'll have you know, not all of us are like that. If I leave a relationship (in any form), I walk out with what I had to start with or with the addition of what "I" myself acquired during it. If it was something we bought together, he can keep it. I'm sick to death of ALL women being portrayed as only out for a man's money.....especially when I make more money than the average man. I doubt this will get printed as much as I doubt it will get more than a passing glance from you.....but at least I got it off my chest.
Hugs and kisses,
Lisa W.

Response from Gene:

Actually, I don't believe anyone, especially myself, has ever stated all women are alike...far from it. It's not whether there are hordes of men after divorce who vow they will never marry again (my sense is, because of the cost of divorce), it is only with reference to the laws of the land. It's called community property, but it usually means the man pays.
I look both ways before crossing the street. You may say that was a pessimistic point of view. Perhaps, you might add, I don't have faith in mankind. Do I REALLY believe a total stranger would want to run me over?
But, let's be real here, if I don't look both ways before crossing and if a truck runs me over, two scenarios are possible: 1. The driver meant to run me over, or 2. It was an accident.
And my response is, who cares what the intent was. I've been run over.

And finally, the only two things wrong with marriage are: usually one of the two getting married is a man ...and, the biggest cause of divorce is....(you guessed it) marriage.

In response to Ben,

He stated if you can't be with just one partner don't get married and also that this was some exclusive thing to Men. My husband and I are not the norm. But we have been married for 18 yrs and actually been partners for 22 yrs. And we both have friends. So it is up to the couple and if both are okay with it then go ahead and get married. Second I guess my friends and I are not the norm either. Us women have a hard time with just one man we tend to need more than one at a time. What one man can't or doesn't fulfill the other does.

Just my opinion.
MK

Response from Gene:

I wish more women were like you.

Hello Mr. Simmons,

I've just watched the Speaking in Tongues DVD and enjoyed it very much.  It's good to be entertained and inspired.  I wanted to offer my congratulations on another job well done.  By the way, if ever you're interested in a different career path, I think you might just make and excellent therapist.... Want to switch jobs for a day? :)   Also, my friends and I wanted to thank you for your hospitality at the Nashville KISS concert this summer.  Take care and best wishes in all your endeavors.  Hope to see you again sometime!

In Appreciation,   Dr. Suzie D.

My dear Gene,

I have to say that I am the only woman I know who completely agrees with you on the marriage issue. I just wish I could find myself a man, aside from you of course, who agreed as well! I think men have this fascination with marriage because of their insecurities.. they figure a marriage will keep their little woman at home where she belongs. But I was wondering.. I've only heard you talk about money and the cost of divorce and use that as the center of your advice regarding marriage. But I can't imagine that money is an issue for you, so what is YOUR reason for not getting married? All that stuff about the money is true, but there is more to it than that for me... as I'm sure there is for you.

Keep on rockin baby..

Love,
Caitie

Response from Gene:

Well...how do I put it...the male of the species produces billions of sperm...daily. Make of it what you will.

Howdy Gene,

Do you think the war on terror is winnable?
What if it lasts till the end of the next Presedential term?
Was there a working title for Detroit rock city.
Cheers Dave

Response from Gene:

It doesn't matter how long it lasts and which country in the world you have to confront it in. Time is the enemy. It is only a matter of time until they get dirty bombs, or WMD's...and then it's too late.

There is a lady that i know that is telling everyone that she is hanging out with Kiss . The people that she is telling this to do not what to believe. Do you and the other people in Kiss own any Day Cares. Please let me know.

Thank You

Brown Eyes

Response from Gene:

No.

Dear Gene:

I was reading the following posted letter from that Rome website in regard to your interview and found another incorrect paraphrase that you are a Former KISS front-man; I found it appalling and unsettling:

9-30-04

It is rare that I can say this, but I have never experienced an hour of radio like I did on Thursday. Former KISS front-man Gene Simmons made his way into the studio for an hour-long interview.

Kind regards,
Lisa Sacco

PS: At Neiman Marcus at the International Mall in Tampa they have Original Trade Mark Trunk LTD Limited Edition Kiss shirts; they were sold instantly at $89.00 a shirt illustrating that the Pulse of Tampa is that Kiss is awesome! Here's a pic of me in mine at an Italian feast in Westport, CT.
