Hi Gene!

My daughter Michaela is going to be 11 the day before Halloween. We went to a Halloween party today and her costume was awesome! She wanted to be you! She listens to KISS music all the time! (she even downloaded her KISS CDs into her XBOX!) She always talks about how cool you are! This is a picture we took with my cell phone...she wants to send you some photos once we get the film developed (what address should she send them to?) Everyone at the party loved her costume- so many people said they loved it and they love KISS!
Is there any way at all you could wish her a happy birthday? That would mean the world to her!!!

Thank you so much! Take Care!, Lisa Ennis

Response from Gene:

Happy B'day.

Gene

I was at the West Virginia University/Syracuse game on October 21st and thought that you would like to know that the WVU PA system is blasting "I Love it Loud" and "War Machine" to fire up the crowd on third down.

Gene:

From the previews I have seen, it looks like the adults dress-up as KISS in the Tuesday, October 26 episode of "According to Jim" (ABC, 9 PM).

Happy Hauntings.

Hi Gene,

I have read your book Kiss And Makeup (many times now), it was great, it bought tears to my eyes both of joy and sadness, and i came to realise what an amazing creature you are both on and off stage. I really love the fact that you will speak your mind and not care about what others have to say about it and I think that more people in this world should have the same attitude. I cant wait to get my hands on Speaking In Tongues. I have also had the pleasure of watching My Dad The Rock Star with my kids and we all love it, they think its the best, they are huge fans of yours and seeing you in cartoon has made their day.It was great to see you on stage again earlier this year, my son loved you and has still got his tongue hanging out. I was wandering how you have the stamina to do all of this and still live life at the same time, you just seem to be going non stop. You have done a great job keeping us fans happy for all these years and that's why we stay a dedicated fan of yours. Hope to see you again soon. Love you Gene.
Melissa

Gene,

Just wondering, I am a huge King Diamond and Mercyful Fate fan, on top of that, also a very huge KISS fan also. Now I know that you sued King Diamond in the past because of the make-up.  Regretfully, he was a huge KISS fan also. I was reading the interview on the Kissonline site that you recently did for the KISS magazine.  My question is have you ever met King Diamond and if you have, are you friends, because I know he wasn’t trying to rip you off, but you were a huge influence on him. Also do you like any of the King Diamond or Mercyful Fate albums??  Just curious. J

Anthony Lopez - Cymetre

Response from Gene:

What you said in your email is untrue. We did not sue Diamond. We sent a "cease and desist" letter. That means, "please stop" or, we WILL sue.

He stopped. We did not sue.

Mercyful Fate is an important band.

Hi Gene!

Love the site - loved the tour shows this summer - I saw 5 shows and this is the BEST KISS I have ever heard and seen, PERIOD! A great Gene sighting happened on CNN this past Saturday morning. They interviewed Terri Gross and I watched in hopes of a Gene mention. Well, sure enough the interviewer finished his interview with quoting what Ms Gross had said after her interview with you. Something about her producers wanting her to fight with more of her guests or something... She said she knew it was going to be a tough interview when you said she needed to welcome you with open legs as well as open arms. I swear I heard the interviewer laugh :) It was so sweet to see her CNN interview taken up mostly by discussion of her moments with you. Seems you are her most recognized career highlight :) By the way, she said KISS is made for pre-adolescent boys....just shows she knows nothing about the band or the magic of KISS. Take Care and hope to work with ya soon.

I was reading your book on the plane coming home from a business trip and I came upon the following statement. Please just humor me and entertain my theory ..

"The choice for women is either to rely on sex and marriage as ways to get riches, or compete with men on their level...... Either you can go toe to toe with men or you can't play basketball."

Ok. I agree. But you left out a very important part..

I've gone on many, many job interviews lately and have always been interviewed by a man. Not once was I interviewed by a woman. This is fine, I LOVE men. Women need men whether we admit to it or not. So anyway, I believe everybody reports or answers to somebody in the beginning stages of any career. I'm sure even you had to answer to somebody at some point. 99% of the time, that somebody will be a man. Again, this is fine, like I said I love men. But if men can't get past my nice boobs and shapely butt, the only job offer I'll get is one in his bedroom. (Yes I know, the billion sperm thing, right?) So here I am.. an extremely smart and capable young woman. I could do anything. I could take your job if I wanted to. But no one will hire me. Why, you ask? Here is my theory: Men DO understand that women are just as or even more capable of going "toe to toe" with them. But they also know that they do, and probably always will, have the upper hand. The last word. !
The power to say no, whatever. Are you following me? Say I interview with a man for a vice president position at a small company. This man immediately sees I am smart and possibly capable of even taking his job someday. So what does he do? Offers me a executive secretary position instead. And why?? BECAUSE HE CAN. He will go and hire a man to do the job. Are men really capable of viewing women as equal? I would say, no. Not now anyway.

Now this seems to present a problem for many of your philsophies on the relationship between man and woman. You say that you think women should go out and "do something." Well, I agree 100%. Maybe if we (women, that is) went out and did our own thing, we'd focus our energy somewhere OTHER than wondering who our men were screwing. (Among other things but you get my point.) But what are we supposed to do if you keep saying no? I mean, you really leave us no choice but to ride your ass 24/7 about other women...money...taking the trash out, whatever. We've got nothing better to do.

Please understand I am not blaming men for my recent failures, this is just life as I know these days. I say to men everywhere: You want us to go out and "do something?" Well then, get over yourself and LET US. You can't push us out of the kitchen and expect us not to try and enter your corporate world. You can't have it both ways, you decide.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Response from Gene:

You're right. You get picked on because of your boobs. And fat people get picked because they're fat. And old people get picked on because they're "over the hill and their opinions aren't current"...And young people are considered inexperienced and therefore their opinions don't count...

Ad infinitum. Ad nauseam..

Stop whining all of you and just go and do it.

Hey Gene!

I have been a dedicated fan of yours since I was 7 yrs old.I am now 37 and I still love you dearly.I have never been so lucky to meet you in person but one day I hope I do because Just a couple of minutes of your time would mean the world to me.I go to all the KISS concerts and KISS expos I can.My dining room is full of KISS stuff and it is overflowing now.The reason I am writing you is because I want to show you 2 things---I have a new Tattoo and a quilt that I want you to see. The Tattoo I came up with myself because I am such a big fan of yours and I also like frogs. The Quilt my mom designed and made for me for Xmas after I begged her for years to make me one. Just wanted to share these pictures with you. I am one of your Biggest and most devoted fans and I will Love you till the day I die! Rhonda Rowell
