Just learned I will be on the CATHERINE CRYER PROGRAM on COURT TV tomorrow (Wednesday, May the 1st, LIVE at 2:30 pm LA time.
Went to the SPIDERMAN premier last night. It's a smash. Lots of special effects. Spidey was a part of my childhood and it's good to see the comic book come to life. Tobey McGuire is perfect as Peter Parker. JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is hilarious. A terrific film
At the afterparty, met up with STAN LEE, who was responsible for the MARVEL KISS comics of the 70's, and wrote the KISS MEETS THE X-MEN comic we did about a decade ago. AVI ARRAD, who produced the movie and is currently developing THE HULK, SUB MARINER and DAREDEVIL
Met up and took pics with JON VOIGT, and the film's CLIFF ROBERTSON.
Go see it.
April 29th -
The EXTRA television people told me they were going to feature the "Life At Home With Gene etc..." starting Monday (today). It's undecided if there will be two segments (Monday and Tuesday) or whether it's going to be featured for the entire week. There is also the possibility the show will be broken up between this week and next week.
Either way, it was invasive, but lots of fun.
New Lady in Waiting!
Received a phone call from a lawyer inquiring my availability during June for 6 weeks to act in a movie alongside an action star. Cannot mention project or actor as yet. Not sure if I am available and the project has yet to be offered. It would be a co-starring role.
Now, if they only made a few hours more per day.
GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine is off to the printers. We're all very excited. Be looking for it early June... at every 7-Eleven...every bookstore and every newsstand.
Did a photo shoot with a Brinks truck (the kind that picks up the cash from banks), two Playmates (Buffy and Suzanne - who also appeared in the GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine cover shoot) for a new GENE SIMMONS DRAGONFLY clothing advert.
Just came back from putting down vocals on a new tune called 'WAIT.' Very excited about it. In two weeks or so, will do a demo of another new song called 'ALL THE KIDS WITH PAINTED FACES'.
Cher and I have been talking about recording a song together.... perhaps for a movie soundtrack. This is all very tentative, so please don't email questions. I won't have answers.

For those of you logging on to this website for the first time: Please let me set the record straight.
GENE SIMMONS.COM is the place I keep an ongoing diary of some of the projects I'm working on OUTSIDE OF KISS.
If you'd like a much more comprehensive site that's completely devoted to KISS and is the only authorized KISS site, log onto KISSONLINE.COM. By the way, if you look at the top of this page, you'll see a link. Just press "click" and off you go.
KISS fans, as most of the world knows, are the most passionate... right or wrong, they will make sure we and I know their feelings. Sometimes I agree, other times I don't. Sometimes, whatever fans and I think is beside the point: life is what happens while you're busy making plans. Whether the fans and or the band like it, sometimes the choices aren't to any of our liking.
But, the tone of our letter column, while it often refers to KISS, will be directed to other notions -- my other projects, religion, etc.
It wouldn't be fair to KISS fans if I logged on my non-group activities onto KISSONLINE.COM, nor do I think the fans would understand.
KISS will continue. KISS will do all sorts of new things. Some of the new things will be welcomed, and some will not. The people will tell us if we're doing the right thing.
In the meantime, I'll continue to work on projects that interest me.
I hope they will appeal to you as well.
APRIL 19th
Woke up about 7 am to discover Miss Tweed uncovering the blankets over my head. I saw her next to a camera pointed at my puss. Television's EXTRA program were in my house and were about to film most of what goes on here.
They were with me in my truck on the way to AMERICAN BANDSTAND. I asked the guys if it would be ok for the EXTRA people to film us backstage... but the guys felt uncomfortable about it, so the EXTRA people were dropped off at the gate to the PASADENA CIVIC CENTER, where we filmed.
After the shoot, I made it back in time to eat with Nick, Soph, Shannon, her sister Tracy, her daughter and their mom at Chin Chin's... while EXTRA shot us.
APRIL 20th
With EXTRA still there, my day started off with a GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine meeting -- editor Steve Appleford and designer Kevin Robie.
Segued into a W.O.W. WOMEN OF WRESTLING meeting with my partner David McLein and the present W.O.W. World Champion wrestler. We discussed the upcoming Pay Per View... a Caesar's Palace date and lots of other potential developments.
My SANCTUARY PICTURES partner, Rich Amramson came over to discuss a few of the projects on the front burner for our film company. They include projects with Name Stars. Cannot mention them at this time, however.
Rich and I are also building a Hotel Casino. More about this later.
GENE SIMMONS DRAGONFLY business assiciate Ed Dada came by with two Playboy models - Suzanne and Buffy (who also appear on the cover of GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine). The girls modelled some of our clothing line and we made some changes based on at least one suggestion one of the girls made.
Incidentally, GENE SIMMONS DRAGONFLY STORES are moving forward with our first site being offered a lease. As soon as the lease is signed, we will announce it.
Then Nick, Soph and Shannon and I went bowling... with EXTRA.
APRIL 21
The day was a little less hectic, but EXTRA decided to come by and do additional shooting.
CHER came by early afternoon. We discussed a number of projects we may do together, but generally just hung out. She looked great.
A principle of the AVN Awards dropped by for a potential project we may do together.
My partner in GENE SIMMONS CHILLERAMA, the tv project we sold to MTV came by with a new draft of the show. Our third partner is ADAM (Detroit Rock City director) RIFKIN.
The EXTRA people tell us our segment may be aired over a two day period, or it may balloon up to a full week. We will see.
I was invited to go see RANCID tonight... but was exhausted. Too bad I couldn't make it. Looked forward to it.

April 15th -
Talking to Joe Strummer from the Clash, Vincent Gallo, who directed and starred in BUFFALO 66 and record producer RICK RUBIN, who has produced everyone from the Chili Peppers to the Beastie Boys about appearing in GENE SIMMONS TONGUE #2.
Issue #1 has closed and within a week or two, will be off to the printers.
We're all very excited and shocked at the acceptance our magazine has had with the distributors. We are approaching 500,000 print run on the very first issue. You will be able to find us at news stands across America. This means you can walk into any 7-Eleven or bookstore to pick up your copy.

David Steinberg, who has directed some of your favorite television shows, came over to discuss a few projects we are looking at. He also asked me to appear in a new television pilot he was working on.
A pilot is an example of what a show would look like for the television execs. They watch the pilot and then decide if they want to order more episodes or not.
April 10th
Took my Film Company partners Rich Abramson and Billy Blake to lunch. We discussed a number of projects. It's too early to talk about the Company as yet. But, soon enough I will be hopefully announcing our plans.
April 11th
Lunched with producer Scott Steindorff, who has just started principle photography on his first feature THE HUMAN STAIN starring ANTHONY HOPKINS and NICOLE KIDMAN. Scott has a number of other terrific projects in development. We are going to be teaming up on a few projects we both feel passionate about. More news on this later.
April 12th
David Steinberg's pilot PHIL FULLER AND THE FULLER FAMILY asked me to appear as myself and we shot it today. The premise of the show is a family of... it's difficult to describe them, but I'll try. The "little 14 year old girl" is played by a 35 year old man. That'll give you a sense of the "tone" of the show.
Daisy Fuentes also appeared on the show. We chatted backstage, took some photos and agreed to talk later about her appearing in GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine.

John Herzfeld came up to the house. John has directed 2 DAYS IN THE VALLEY and 15 MINUTES (DeNiro and Ed Burns). We tossed around some ideas and then went with my son Nick and his friend to a local deli to grab a bite. Ran into John Voigt, who's always been nice to us and even Paul Stanley. I get to meet all the stars!!!
On a separate note, I have made a concerted effort not to use this site as a discussion forum re what's happening in the middle East. In the past, I have also decided not to use this site to discuss 9/11. I'm sure we all have very passionate points of views regarding these and other subjects. Perhaps I'm wrong, but my sense is you want this site to be chatty and loose. I'm sure you get enough of my "sermons" on religion, sociology and ethics. I don't mind discussing those issues, because they are general in tone. When a something is subject specific, it tends to inflame people one way or the other.
I suggest you all read the NY Times, watch the news and make up your own minds.
And, we'd appreciate it if you send us photos of yourselves, your collections etc. The letter column looks alot better with photos, don't you think?
A few days ago, met with PLAYBOY execs over a new project I am creating/producing for them called GROUPIES (tentative title.). I shot the project originally as a pilot for HBO. Interestingly enough, I was more prudish about the content. HBO wanted to show as much as possible and I wanted the show to be more documentary in style and less "shocking." ....less Jerry Springer and more Discovery Channel.
Suffice it to say, the show will include real beautiful women (not actresses) and rock stars.

Went up to the Playboy Mansion for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It's actually quite a site. Mommies and the kiddies all get together and hunt for eggs. However, most of the mommies are former Playmates. Most mommies do not look like this. It's quite a sight.
April 1st
Decided to start my solo record a little sooner than I had expected. I have already contact Phil Collins about co-producing it with me. We've already written some songs together. Additionally, Paul will co-sing a song with me. Ace has agreed to play a solo or two and I plan on using a Symphonic Orchestra for the entire album.
...uh... April Fools Day.
April 2nd
Tim Sullivan, who worked on DETROIT ROCK CITY with me, is making his debut as a director on 2001 MANIACS. The film will beginning principal photography soon. I have been asked to act in it. Time permitting, I will.
I met my GENE SIMMONS DRAGONFLY STORES business associate, Ed Dada in Hollywood, to survey a site for the first store. We have yet to settle on a location. But, when we do, I am confident it will be special.
We are also discussing opening a second store in London, in association with the Princess of Brunei.
April 3rd
Met at my house with agents from CAA to discuss mounting a TUROK, DINOSAUR HUNTER feature film. We are discussing several "attached elements", but cannot at this time mention or confirm any of them.
Visited Bob Ezrin at the studio, where he is producing the new Jane's Addiction. Cornered Dave Navaro about doing a feature with his wife for GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine. More on this as it develops.
April 4th
Met with Barry Weistz from PLAYBOY regarding two projects I recently set up there. GIRLS OF KISS and GROUPIES. Both promise to be lots of fun and "auditions" will be announced shortly.
Went down to Gold's Gym for the first Erotic Aerobic Workout, featuring an all-girl class. I hate it when that happens.... All of this was filmed for VH1's ZACH LATE WORLD television program... on this week.
