Gene Simmons, co-founder of Kiss, coming to American Music Theatre Sept. 8

Gene Simmons, co-founder of the band Kiss, will be coming to the American Music Theatre on Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. with his own band.

Simmons is the bassist for Kiss, which has sold more than 100 million CDs and DVDs in the last 43 years.

The band became famous wearing elaborate makeup. Simmons created the character The Demon, who spits fire and vomits stage blood. He is known for his giant tongue, which he exposes frequently while performing.

No word of whether Simmons will be wearing makeup or not at the American Music show.

Simmons had a reality TV series, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” with his wife and two kids for about seven years on A&E. He’s also involved in publishing and is committed to Child Fund International, sponsoring more than 140 kids.

Tickets are $135, $125, $69 and will be available beginning June 17.
